Oz Gold

When the village as we now know it was being built, Mustafa Manav and his brother, Numan, moved their Fethiye-based jewellers, Platin Gold, which they established in 1992, from near the harbour in Fethiye to the mountains of Hisaronu and gave it a new name to go with the new location: Oz Gold. A name that is now known to thousands of satisfied customers.

Oz Gold was established in 1994 by its owner, Mustafa Manav, and is a family-run business. Over the years Oz Gold have gained an enviable reputation that is second to none and they have customers returning year after year, not just for the jewellery but to renew old friendships, to have a drink and a chat.

It is situated in a prime location at the heart of the village approximately 120m down from the Mosque towards Kaya on the opposite side of the road. You can find its exact location on our map here.

One reason for Oz Gold's success is the staff. If you're wary of tie-wearing salesmen who are working on commission or you don't like the 'hard sell' approach or you won't window-shop because you're not too keen on being swooped on by sales staff, then you'll enjoy your shopping experience at Oz Gold.

It's a pleasure walking into the shop. Friendly faces will greet you, offer you some refreshment and assist you in any way they can. More often than not, Mustafa himself will be present, and you'll not find a more knowledgeable or helpful jeweller in the entire village - and beyond.

If you cannot find the item of jewellery on display (and there is a massive choice) then the resident craftsman will be able to design and create almost anything you can dream of; be it a new ring, a necklace or bracelet. It seems at times that nothing is impossible for the craftsman.

Also, where else in the village will you find such charming staff as these three, Asli, Derya and Sibel (daughter)? They will, along with Nerimen (wife), Ilker (son) and of course, Mustafa, make an impression upon you that will have you going back time after time.

One thing you should know about Turkish gold, it is nearly all 14/18 carat and has a nice shining, golden look that the 9 carat gold mainly sold in the UK lacks. It is also an investment as well as a piece of attractive jewellery. It is always a good idea to have your purchases valued at home for insurance purposes - and when you do you'll appreciate the value of shopping at Oz Gold.
